1. From February 28, 2022, Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. recalled some imported Beetles, Scirocco, Golf, Summer models of 2015-2019 models produced between June 1, 2015 and July 16, 2019 There are 30,639 vehicles in the Lang, Touwei and Weilan series.

2. From February 28, 2022, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled some imported Audi A1 series vehicles of the 2015-2018 model year produced between June 18, 2015 and January 27, 2018, totaling 6,455 vehicles.

3. From December 24, 2021, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will expand the recall of some imported Audi A6 Avant and A7 vehicles with a production date from September 25, 2020 to May 18, 2021, totaling 14 vehicles.

Reason for recall

Vehicles within the scope of this recall (1) and (2) are equipped with 1.2TSI and 1.4TSI engines produced within a certain period of time. Due to manufacturing deviations in the production process, there may be insufficient tightening torque for the oil rail bolts, resulting in the failure of vehicle Bolt loosening occurred during use. In extreme cases, the seal of the fuel injector may be damaged, causing fuel leakage. The risk of fire cannot be ruled out, and there is a potential safety hazard.


Due to the software coordination problem between the engine and the transmission control unit of the vehicles within the scope of this recall (3), when the vehicle shifts from the first gear to the second gear at a lower speed, if the driver suddenly changes the driving intention at this time and releases the accelerator pedal, The "engine stall protection mechanism" will be triggered during the shifting process, resulting in an increase in the output torque of the engine and a slight increase in the engine speed. The vehicle speed may suddenly increase by 3-5km/h within 1-2 seconds, increasing the occurrence of accidents. the possibility of a security risk.


Solution

For the vehicles within the recall scope (1) and (2), Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. and FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers to replace the engine oil rail bolts for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge and follow the new Tighten the bolts with the best tightening method to eliminate safety hazards.


For vehicles within the recall scope (3), FAW-Volkswagen will entrust Audi authorized dealers to upgrade the engine control unit and transmission control unit software for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

For vehicles within the recall scope (1) and (2), if the user notices an abnormal fuel odor during use of the vehicle, he should contact an authorized dealer for inspection as soon as possible.


This recall belongs to the expanded recall of the "FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. recalls some imported and domestic Audi vehicles" released on October 19, 2021.
